Amidst the extreme heat in Korea, mysterious fires have popped up. Instead of looking for human arsonists, authorities are pointing the finger at Mother Nature. In Jecheon, a spontaneous fire was reported at a factory that manufactures raw materials for medicines. The cause of the fire is unknown. It burned for 2 hours and 20 minutes and left 350 million won in damages. On the day of the fire, Jecheon reached 39.8 degrees Celsius. Earlier this week, a fire broke out in a barn in Yeosu. It took 3 hours to put out the fire. Authorities believe the hot weather was to blame. And on the same day in Mokpo, a fire ignited at a coal yard. There are several other reported instances where Mother Nature is believed to be the arsonist this summer.
