Korea's Prime Minister call for countermeasures to address damages resulting from the heatwave that continues to plague the nation. In response, the Ministry of Interior and Safety said it will designate special agents to check on those particularly vulnerable to the hot weather. Regional governments are also moving to check their heat-related policies, including Seoul which operates daytime heat shelters with air conditioning and monitoring of the homeless in public areas. The Prime Minister also called for measures to combat rising vegetable prices, pest control for crops, and livestock from contracting diseases.
