Korea's global ranking for gross domestic product fell a notch last year from the year before. Korea came in 12th with a GDP of $1.53 trillion US dollars. It stayed at 14th from 2009-2013 before climbing to 11th in the 2015-2016 period. The United States was at the top of the list with $19.39 trillion. However, gross national income for Korea catapulted more than 10 spots. Korea came in 31st, up 14 notches from the previous year, with $28,380. But the income boost was partly due to the country's foreign exchange rate.
