Korea is bracing for the first typhoon to directly pass through the peninsula in six years. Typhoon Soulik, which was southeast of Japan's Kyushu over the weekend, has been rapidly intensifying strength since it formed near Guam. The mid-scale typhoon is expected to arrive near Yeosu on Thursday morning and then travel up toward North Korea's eastern coastal regions. If the typhoon hits land as predicted, it would be the first direct typhoon since Sanba in 2012, which left two killed.
