Singapore's Ministry of Education has announced a raft of changes affecting primary and secondary schools, including reducing tests by nearly a quarter.

In addition, report cards will no longer present academic indicators such as relative rankings, while grades themselves will be rounded off to whole numbers.

It's hoped that the changes will allow students to focus on their learning progress and discourage them from being overly concerned about comparisons.
