Over 10,000 people from a group calling itself ‘the red scarves’ marched in Paris to counter weeks of anti-government protests by the yellow-vest movement. 

The counter-movement to the 'yellow vests' has over 20,000 followers on Facebook. A manifesto by the 'red scarves' said they denounced the climate of insurrection promoted by the 'yellow vests' and demanded an end to the violence witnessed at 'yellow vest' rallies. A spokesman for the 'red scarves' said people are tired of the protests' roadblocks and impact on local businesses and schools. 

Across France, about 69,000 people took part in the 11th consecutive weekend of yellow-vest protests.
